The begining...

Hi!

Well, where do I begin, because you have kind of missed the begining...

About a year ago we decided to make a change, a big change. We had been back in the suburbs about 8 years after a few years in the country and we always knew we wanted to head back at some stage. Last year we knew it was time to make the move on that "one day" dream and actually do it.

Why not we thought? People do it all the time. Don't they?  It was so hard. Such a huge decision to make . Even though we kept coming up with what ifs? and are we making a huge mistake, were we ruining our entire financial future selling up to move? Should we keep the house, rent it out and have a back up plan, a return to sender?  Would we get enough to make the dream reality? We decided it was worth the risk, things couldnt get any worse than they were for us because we were miserable.  Financially we were fine but in terms of quality of life and family time we were very very poor.

After a year of spending weekends driving back and forth to Western Australia's beautiful south west, a few false starts and change of heart on locations , one day we drove into a small town ...

The word town may be a little of an exaggeration.  Its a tiny place. To reach it you travel down a beautiful tree lined country road. With the late summer sun shining through the trees we were captivated. This was it...

So , we sold our house in the suburbs, I took a career break from my job (hopefully never to return), we found a house to rent just down the road in the next also beautiful town and we have just bought an acre of green green heaven. We have just finished working on a plan for our new house and we are on our way to the good life...the good life on a budget

I have been keeping a track of things in my phone diary so I decided to start a blog to keep a record of our journey.
